These are not very simple steps to remove a Gmail account from the iPhone. You need to follow these steps carefully then you will be able to delete your account easily.
Go to Gmail account and click on settings option
Then find password and accounts option
Then click on Gmail option
Then click on Delete account
Again click on confirm
Your gmail account will deleted from your iphone
