Mine would have to be the good ole Xbox 360 controller with wireless dongle. Reliability-wise, it's still the best. Contour of the controller fits nicely and the buttons are crisp. It's also widely supported across a lot of games on Steam.
Second best would be the 8bitdo SN30 Pro, it's just an amazing, cheap alternative. I use it originally for my Switch but it's surprisingly good for some Steam games and retro emulation.
I'd like to hear yours so we can share here what gamepads for the PC are best to buy/use.
