We're entering the time of year when rumors about the next Call of Duty are rife. Vanguard released on schedule in late 2021, and now we know Modern Warfare 2 will be next. We now know the release date of Modern Warfare 2: it will be released on October 28, 2022. The game is mainly developed by Infinity Ward, but it seems that 10 other studios are working in support on the game, although this kind of sharing of resources is not new to the serie.
2022's COD was rumored to be the sequel to 2019's Modern Warfare, and most likely came with a "2" at the end of that game's title to bring back nostalgic memories of the original Modern Warfare 2. In February 2022, this was officially confirmed, after an unusual move for the franchise: Infinity Ward gave members of the media a briefing on its plans, not only for Modern Warfare 2, but also for a new iteration of Warzone that will accompany it.
